Choose a new medical plan for 2022

One size doesn’t fit all, and we are introducing all new Cigna medical plan options for 2022. Since your current Cigna plan won’t be available next year, be sure to compare your options, and enroll in a 2022 medical plan during Annual Enrollment.

If you are in a BAE Systems Cigna medical plan today and don’t take action, you will automatically be enrolled in the medical plan with the lowest paycheck deduction for you and any family members you cover today. This may not be the best fit for you.

If you do not wish to be automatically enrolled, either elect a medical plan or waive coverage during the enrollment process.

Use the new Medical Plan Evaluator to see which plan is the best fit for you

The new Medical Plan Evaluator can help you compare your new medical plan options. The online tool will be available on BenefitsNavigator beginning October 6 and throughout Annual Enrollment for most employees.

BAE Systems will contribute to your Health Savings Account (HSA)

If you enroll in one of the HSA plans, BAE Systems will contribute to your HSA to help you pay for your health care expenses ($750 for individual coverage or $1,500 for family coverage). To receive this company funding, you must be eligible to contribute to an HSA.

Are you already participating in an HSA plan? Keep in mind that the IRS is increasing the HSA contribution limits for 2022. Learn more about how you can save to help pay for the health care you need.

Last call for wellness incentives

Usage of the Wellness Incentive Program has declined significantly in recent years, and the program will end on December 31, 2021. If you’ve been planning to earn incentives in 2021, take action as soon as possible, because the program will begin to transition in November. Watch for more details from Cigna.

Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs) will no longer be offered

None of our new medical plans will offer a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) option. Through the end of this year, you may continue to submit any eligible medical and prescription drug claims for reimbursement from your HRA. After December 31, 2021, any HRA funds will remain available to you for two years (through December 31, 2023). Watch for more details from Cigna.
