Regular employees scheduled to work 20+ hours per week are offered: health, dental, and vision insurance; health savings accounts; 401(k); disability coverage; and life and accident insurance. You will also have access to an employee assistance program and other perks that offer discounts on things like home, auto, and pet insurance, as well as a legal plan. BAE Systems leave programs include paid time off, paid holidays, as well as other types of leave including paid parental, military, bereavement, and any applicable federal and state leave.
Temporary employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for the 401(k) Savings Plan, Medical, Employee Assistance Program, and business travel accident coverage.
Regular and temporary employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week are eligible for the 401(k) Savings Plan.
Temporary employees such as interns are generally not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, though are eligible to elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan, and if working 20+ hours per week, are eligible for medical, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance. Temporary employees have access to the same medical plans as regular employees, but pay a different amount for the coverage.
Family members are eligible for many of the benefits offered, and include:
- Your legal spouse, children, and stepchildren up to age 26
- Your same-sex and opposite-sex domestic partner and/or their child(ren)
You’ll be asked to provide Social Security numbers and documentation to verify each family member’s eligibility to participate in the company’s health plans. If you don’t provide the requested information, your dependents will be dropped from coverage. Coverage will not be reinstated until the first of the month following receipt and acceptance of your dependent’s eligibility information.
While you are employed, if your scheduled work hours or your status as a temporary or regular employee changes, your benefits may change. Also note that benefits vary across BAE Systems; should you transfer to another sector, your benefits may be different. To learn more, visit the Benefits and Financial Wellness page on the BAE Systems Resource Center portal. You must be on the BAE Systems network to access the Resource Center portal.
